Fireworks Fun on the 4th of July

Some people say we have our own brand of fireworks every day–the gorgeous sunsets over Lake Erie!  But who would think that in our own little town, that there would be TWO fireworks exhibitions!

This year for the first time, the North East Chamber of Commerce will be sponsoring what they call “An Olde Fashioned Fourth of July.”  This is taking place on Saturday, July 1st, within walking distance of the Grape Arbor!

There will be Chicken BBQ, Cow Pie Bingo (yea, I know!), a car cruise in and musical entertainment.  What is Cow Pie Bingo?  Three cows (Mama-Cow, Cow Belle and Otis are set loose on a grid of 3×3 foot squares.  When a cow pie falls on a square..the person who purchased that square..wins the corresponding prize.  Squares are $10 each, with 600 squares available and a first place prize of $1,000!   Squares are available for purchase now through the Chamber!

This is all capped off by a fireworks at dusk.

And then…on the 4th..more fireworks!  These are at the North East campus of Mercyhurst–also within walking distance!  Again, at dusk..

And if you want your own celebration (not here at the Inn, of course) we have two fireworks stores for sparklers and other supplies.  We still have some rooms left, so come and join us!
