When traveling, it’s nice to grab a bite without having to go far. Speedeez fits the bill. It’s not fancy, but the food is decent and the interesting beer selection is cold and refreshing. You won’t find pretentious selections here, but you will find a great place to eat and watch a game.
We started our meal with a glass of local Pinot Gris (Penn Shore) and an Angry Orchard Hard Cider on tap! After the Hard Cider, Paul also enjoyed a cold Pumpkin nutmeg beer. Their beer selection is written out on a large chalkboard in the dining area.
Their biggest sellers are their wings and flatbreads, so we ordered both. We chose two wing flavors. The Stacks Hot, were served dry (not smothered) and had a spicy tang. The Montego Bay Sweet Jerk were served wet, but not drowning, and had a nice mild Caribbean flavor. Wednesdays are wing nights, and are 50¢ each when ordered by the dozen.
We also tried the Flatbread Pizza special, Chicken Alfredo. The crust was crispy, the sauce creamy, and topped with diced chicken, tomatoes and cheese. In addition, we ordered the Taco Salad, since we had never tried it before. It was a hearty portion topped with a tasty chili, cheese, onions and surrounded by chips.
All in all, a decent meal, within a short stroll from the Inn. SpeedeeZ is smoke free and has a separate room with a pool table and dart games to pass the time. The servers are friendly and are glad to give advice or tips to the traveler. It can get busy on weekends, especially during event weekends like WineFest or Wine Trail Events, but so is every other restaurant in town. If you want to grab a drink, a snack and watch a game…this is the place to go.
