Woo hoo! All we have been hearing about all winter was that Erie is the snowiest city in the US! All of the hullabaloo is, of course, because of the massive snow dump that happened Christmas day, and the few days after. The area had between 49 and 65 inches in the course of two days. Pretty impressive!
Within three days, we were pretty much cleaned up despite large piles of snow and a parking lot that was somewhat diminished in size. But that was two months ago! Now we are starting to get the first blooms on the bushes (our beautiful witch hazel is always first) and some of the 900 bulbs that I planted last fall and starting to peer up out of the ground.
The sun is shining more days than not, and feels warm against my face. Our inside decorations have gone from Christmas to snowmen to spring…and soon bunnies and chicks.
As much as I love the winter, I am looking forward to warmer days and blooming plants. Are you? Along with that, I see our menus changing from heavier warming comfort food, to some lighter lemony choices.
Keep your eyes open; we are planning some major updates to the front and back of one of the buildings, and would love to have your input!
